Itinerary: From Marrakech to the Heart of the Sahara

DAY 1 — Welcome to Marrakech

Your adventure begins in Morocco's most vibrant city. Pick-up from your hotel or riad. The rest of the day is yours to absorb Marrakech’s unique atmosphere: the aroma of spices, the sounds of Jemaa el-Fna Square at sunset, the labyrinth of the souks, and the terracotta hue of its walls. Tonight, enjoy dinner in a charming riad and rest before the expedition begins at dawn.

DAY 2 — High Atlas · Ait Ben Haddou · Ouarzazate

Early departure from Marrakech. We cross the spectacular Tizi n'Tichka Pass (2,260 m), the heart of the High Atlas, with panoramic stops at viewpoints and Berber villages where time seems to have stood still. We arrive at the mythical Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou—a UNESCO World Heritage site and the backdrop for films like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. You will have free time to explore and discover its secrets at your own pace. In the afternoon, we continue to Ouarzazate, known as the "gateway to the desert" and the Hollywood of Africa.

DAY 3 — Valley of the Roses · Todra Gorges

One of the most beautiful days of the expedition. We travel through the fragrant Valley of the Roses, where in spring the fields are tinged with pink and the air smells of petals. We pass through Kelaat M'Gouna, the world capital of rose water. In the afternoon, we reach the impressive Todra Gorges: 300-meter-high rock walls rising above a crystal-clear river. We will walk through them—one of the most spectacular landscapes in all of Morocco. The day ends as we move toward the desert, while the landscape becomes more arid, pure, and wild.

DAY 4 — Merzouga · Sleeping in the Sahara Desert

Today, the magic begins. We arrive in Merzouga, at the gates of the Sahara. The dunes of Erg Chebbi—some over 150 meters high—appear on the horizon like a vision from another world. At sunset, we swap our vehicle for camels and venture into the heart of the desert as the sun dyes the dunes gold and orange. The night is Berber: a traditional dinner under the stars, ancestral music around the fire, and an endless sky full of stars. One of those nights you will never forget.

DAY 5 — Sunrise in the Dunes · Ouarzazate

The day begins before dawn. We climb to the top of the dunes to watch the sunrise over the Sahara—one of the most moving and photogenic moments of the trip. The silence, the light, and the immensity of the desert create an experience that few words can describe. After a final breakfast facing the dunes, we begin our return. But you are no longer the same. You take with you the secrets of a land that few truly come to understand. We head back through the Anti-Atlas landscapes, arriving in Ouarzazate for a final night in this magical city.

DAY 6 — Return to Marrakech and Transformation

The final day of the expedition. after breakfast, we start the journey back to Marrakech, crossing the High Atlas once again via the Tizi n'Tichka Pass, with stops at Berber villages and panoramic viewpoints. Arrival in Marrakech in the afternoon. We will drop you off at your hotel, riad, or directly at the airport depending on your flight. You carry with you memories, photographs, and the certainty of having truly lived Morocco—not as a tourist, but as a traveler.
